چکیده

Endothelial injury during microaterial anastomosis typically results in mural thrombus formation. However. endothelial cells produce various substances which suppress thrombus formation and main ta in normal vascular wall architecture by pereventing muscular proliferation. Therefore. in order to reduce the risk of thrombus formation following microarterial anastomoses. drugs which stimulate endothelial cells and active reendothelialization might be beneficta!'

The effect of tension on patency of rat femoral artery anastomoses.

OBJECTIVE To determine experimentally the role of tension in the failure of microarterial anastomoses. METHODS Sixteen microarterial anastomoses were performed in femoral arteries from adult Sprague-Dawley male rats after resecting 0, 1, 2, or 3 mm. The percentage of vessel excised was calculated. The vessel was then examined in approximately 1 week for patency. Next, 5 femoral arteries were ...

Acellular dermal matrix grafts for prevention of microarterial thrombophlebitis.

OBJECTIVE To examine the role of acellular dermal matrix grafts for prevention of microarterial anastomotic thrombophlebitis. DESIGN Bilateral femoral artery microvascular anastomoses were created in the field of established wounds infected with Staphylococcus aureus in 12 rats. In each animal, 1 femoral microarterial anastomosis was wrapped with an acellular dermal matrix graft, and the cont...

The effect of subcutaneously administered low-molecular-weight heparin on microarterial thrombosis in the rat.

OBJECTIVE To examine the effect of administration of a low-molecular-weight heparin derivative, enoxaparin, on the rate of arterial thrombosis in a rat model. STUDY DESIGN Prospective, randomized, blinded study. METHODS A standard microarterial anastomosis tuck injury was created in both femoral arteries of 25 Long Evans retired breeder rats. Thirteen animals received a subcutaneous injecti...

Human amniotic membrane effect on colorectal anastomosis in dogs undergoing radiotherapy with/without diverting stoma: An experimental preliminary study

Background: : Radiotherapy is an important factor which results in increase of anastomosis leakage. Diverting loop ileostomy has been usually performed after colorectal anastomosis with history of neo-adjuvant radiotherapy to decrease the chance of leakage. Considering this effect, we assessed the feasibility and outcome of human amniotic membrane in rectal anastomosis in dogs previously treate...

Effect of Human Amniotic Membrane on Prevention of Colorectal Anastomosis Leakage in Cases with Neoadjuvant Radiotherapy: An Experimental Animal Study

Background: Radiotherapy is one of the most important factors which results in negative effects on wound healing and increases anastomosis leakage. Diverting loop ileostomy has been usually performed after colorectal anastomosis in cases of colorectal cancer with a history of neoadjuvant radiotherapy to decrease the chance of leakage. Considering the side effects of diverting loop ileostomy, th...
